Responsible Travel

Choke Hights care deeply about travelling in a way that positively impacts the people and places we visit, and strive to ensure the sustainability of our tours. We are committed to travelling in a way that is respectful of local people, their culture, local economies and the environment.

We ensure our group sizes are small, that our encounters with local cultures are on equal terms. We support the local economy by using smaller, more locally based teams and local guides who pay taxes in the countries they operate ensuring that money stays within local communities. We visit locally-run restaurants and markets where travellers will have opportunities to support local businesses and purchase handicrafts created by local artisans.

Working with local guides offers our guests greater insight than a western leader, and it means that we not only keep our carbon footprint small.

Whenever possible we try to include community-based tourism projects within our itineraries so that small communities are able to benefit from our presence.
